    The 74th (Highland) Regiment of Foot, or Argyll Highlanders, was one of the regiments raised in order to help bring the American Rebellion to a speedy end.

  • Garrison Uniform

    The Garrison kit you see here is the uniform the regiment wore when it shipped from Scotland.The kit includes the standard items used by Highland soldiers in the British Army...such as the Broadsword and dirk.

    The men wear the great kilt (also known as a plaid) and red and white diced hose. This uniform was very pleasing to the men.The Battalion Company, shown below,was able to maintain this uniform at Fort George.

    The next photo shows the Flank Company uniform of the Light Infantry and Grenadiers when they were at Fort Gorge.
